Don't Sweat The Small Stuff

I was watching a program on Feed the Children on television this morning. Right before I really tuned in I had determined what I wanted to write about today and had decided on “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff”. Watching this television program just confirmed what I thought I should write about. In a world of hungry and starving children, sickness, and a world where people in places like Sudan make less than $2.00 a day, why do we sweat the small stuff? After watching that program, no one should ever complain about missing a Big Mac, not knowing which pair of their 50 or 100 pairs of shoes to wear, or about their unfulfilling job – if you’ve been watching the news, you know that many people don’t have one. Sometimes we sweat the small stuff – worrying about things we can’t change, trying to change things we should leave alone, trying to change other people. Who can change another person? Leave them alone, just pray for them. Worrying about what people are doing and thinking, especially about what they are thinking about you, is one of the greatest “life” snatchers. Life would be much more simple and happy when we don’t concern ourselves with these things or things we can’t control. So, are you going to snatch your life back today by not sweating the small stuff?
